Hi
I've tried looking for the code to put a field/text input option in the 'add to cart' section on a site that encourages engraving text on certain products like lighters, cases, trophies etc.
It would be nice to give the user a choice of different fonts too but for now - stage one of the site is to get the engraving option working Smile
Many thanks

Hi, Zeratul
If you only want a single line of engraving attached to a product, then you
can do this without any patching by using Actinic's "Other Info Prompt" to
add a text input box to a Product. This is done via Product Details /
Layout by simply adding some text (like "Engraving Text") into the Other
Info Question. As this is standard Actinic just look in the Help or ask on
the Actinic Forum - community.actinic.com
If you want to capture several lines of text then use my "Multi Other Info
Patch" on http://www.drillpine.biz/actinicstuff - this is quite a complex patch so
make sure someone skilled implements it.

PS I've also done several paid-for customisations for engravers,
embroiderers, etc. These usually involve some serious patching to add extra
functionality like counting the number of characters entered and using this
count to add an engraving charge to the product.
Displaying the customers text as it is being entered in several typefaces is
possible but is very tricky as you don't know what fonts are available on
the customers PC, so have to do some difficult font embedding in the HTML
pages.
