'Over the years my work has focused on the intrinsic themes of colour and nature. I respond intuitively to subject matter, exploring all possibilities towards the invention of a visual language which is strong enough to convey my personal perceptions. I am always striving to create an image which communicates the essence of a place and moment in time. These images can relate to my garden or landscapes experienced on travel. I would like to think that my work creates a sense of optimism and a celebratory feel. I work with the process of mono silk-screen combined with painting. This allows me to create a unique image, layering shape and colour, leading to many, often suprising and radical changes through a process of addition and elimination.'
